W01T02 – God created masculinity and femininity

God created masculinity and femininity. The first thing that is said about the source of humanity is that they were created to bear the image of God. This is amazing and wonderful all at the same time! Men and women come from the same source, but each reflect different aspects of who God is. That’s a really powerful thought that, as a woman, you carry a unique expression of the nature of God to the world!

Now, to be made “in the image of God” is a stronger meaning than to be “like” Him in some way. Mankind was created as God’s image; to be His imagers; something we are, not something we do. The concept of image is not an ability, but a status. We are God’s representatives on earth. To be human is to image God

This imaging concept is continued in the New Testament as Paul writes that as believers we are all being, “conformed to the image of Christ” (Rom 8:29). When Jesus came He was the expressed “image” (Heb 1:3) of the Father. More on that later.

Speaking of Jesus, you are going to hear us talk about Him.  I don’t know where you are at in your relationship with Him, whether you’ve known Him awhile or don’t know Him at all. There can be pros and cons to both, but I will say that you are not at a disadvantage if you don’t know much about Him. I want to show you a brief clip that attempts to answer, “Who is this Jesus?”
